Boxer Rescue Service (Southern) is a Registered Charity, formed in the early 1970's, to rehome unwanted Boxer Dogs.
Boxers come to us for a variety of reasons: marriage/partnership breakdowns, illness, or a change in family circumstances. Some have been abused or neglected, and some simply are no longer wanted.
Dogs that are taken in by our Charity are assessed for character and behaviour, and always checked by our Vet to establish the health of the dog, and, so far as is possible, all information such as age and history is obtained from the previous owners. If vaccinations have expired, then we ensure all our dogs are vaccinated before they are rehomed, and and all dogs are spayed or castrated as appropriate, and microchipped.
All prospective homes and owners are visited by one of our team of Home Vetters, and if you are suitable a dog is homed with you, a follow up visit is made after approximately one month. We make every effort to match each dog to the appropriate home, and therefore we do not work on a ''first come first served'' basis. We ask all owners to sign an Adoption Agreement. New owners must agree to the terms of the agreement, and if for any reason the dog can no longer be cared for, then the dog must be returned immediately to Boxer Rescue Service (Southern).
We cover the areas of Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Kent, and those enquiries from other parts of the country that we cannot deal with are re-routed to other Boxer Rescue organisation. Click here to see other Boxer Rescue units. We are completely independent from any breed club or any other rescue.
All our work is voluntary, and we are funded only by donations, our own fund raisings activities, and membership fees, all of which we rely heavily on to pay for kennelling and veterinary fees, transport, telephone bills etc. Helpers are always welcomed, and if you would like to know more or become part of a team please click here. Perhaps you would like to become a member and receive a regular Newsletter giving news of forthcoming events and stories about the Boxers we have rehomed? If so please click here.
